Where Roman blinds work best
Roman blinds suit bedrooms, studies, dining rooms and smaller living-room windows where a soft decorative finish is preferred. They can be fitted in or around the recess depending on depth, handles and the coverage required.
They are less suitable where the fabric will face persistent moisture, cooking residue or frequent rough handling. In those spaces a roller or aluminium blind may be easier to maintain.
Folds, stack and alignment
The raised blind forms a fabric stack at the top of the window. The available head space and view matter, particularly on short windows. Wide windows may need more than one blind to keep folds stable and operation practical.
Patterned designs require extra planning so the main motif sits attractively when the blind is down and the folds remain balanced.
Lining and light control

Potentially, after we assess width, stability, pattern repeat, weight and suitability for folding. Not every upholstery or delicate fabric behaves well as a Roman blind.
