Curtain and Blind Installation Process

What to expect before, during and after professional curtain, blind and motorized window-treatment installation.

Professional installer measuring and preparing a Dubai window

A careful installation begins before the team arrives and ends with an operating check and clear handover.

Installation scope, access equipment, removal, electrical work, permits and making good are included only when stated in the accepted quotation. Hidden services and unsuitable substrates can require a pause or revised method.

From confirmation to handover

  1. 1. Confirm the appointment

We agree the date, property contact, access window and expected scope. Building permits, loading arrangements and parking remain the customer’s responsibility unless agreed otherwise.

  2. 2. Prepare the room

Clear fragile items and provide safe access to the windows. Complete relevant paint, plaster, joinery and electrical work before the appointment.

  3. 3. Review the fixing position

The installer checks the approved treatment, position, dimensions and visible site conditions. A material discrepancy is raised before drilling.

  4. 4. Protect and install

Reasonable care is taken around finishes and furnishings. Tracks, brackets or blinds are fixed using the agreed method and the treatment is fitted and aligned.

  5. 5. Test operation

Manual curtains, blinds, chains, remotes and motors are operated through their intended range. Motor limits or controls are commissioned within the agreed scope.

  6. 6. Complete the handover

We review the result, explain routine operation and care, record any snag item and confirm the next action where adjustment is needed.

What should be ready

Walls, ceilings and joinery should be dry, complete and capable of accepting the agreed fixing. Furniture should be moved sufficiently for safe access. Pets and children should be kept away from the work area. If the treatment is motorized, the agreed power and control infrastructure must be available.

Tell us in advance about known pipes, cables, waterproofing, post-tensioned slabs, fragile finishes or landlord restrictions.

When work may need to stop

The installer may pause if the fixing surface is unsafe, access is denied, concealed-service risk is identified, dimensions differ materially, power is unavailable or the approved treatment cannot be installed as planned. We will explain the issue and available options instead of forcing an unsuitable installation.

After installation

Some fabrics need time for folds and transport creases to relax. Operate treatments smoothly and follow the care guide. Report incorrect supply, visible damage or operating issues promptly with photographs. Warranty details are set out in Warranty & Aftercare.

Frequently asked questions

How long does installation take?

It depends on the number and size of treatments, access, fixing conditions and motor commissioning. The team provides an estimate when the scope is scheduled.

Will you remove existing curtains or blinds?

Only when removal is included in the quotation. Disposal and making good may be separate.

Who provides electrical wiring for motors?

The quotation identifies the scope. Fixed electrical work should be completed by an appropriately qualified party where required.

Can installation happen before painting is finished?

It is usually better after final finishes. Early installation can expose products to dust, paint and later dimensional changes.

What if there is a snag?

We record the issue, identify whether adjustment, remanufacture, a replacement component or site work is required, and communicate the next step.
